David Bowie, presto fuori il disco coi brani del musical Lazarus

In occasione della prima britannica del musical ‘Lazarus’, in programma l’8 novembre al King Cross Theatre di Londra, esce la versione dei brani di David Bowie del cast e della band della produzione originale del musical, quella di New York.

Il disco avrà come titolo Lazarus cast album e uscirà il 21 ottobre. Dal 16 settembre l’album sarà disponibile in pre-order e darà diritto al download immediato di “Life on Mars?”, interpretata da Sophia Anne Caruso, e della title track interpretata da Michael C. Hall.

Nel disco, oltre ai classici del musicista inglese interpretati dal cast del musical, anche le sue ultime tre incisioni in studio. Prodotte dallo stesso Bowie e da Tony Visconti, registrate con Donny McCaslin e il suo quartetto, la stessa formazione che ha suonato sull’ultimo album ”★” uscito lo scorso gennaio. L’artwork dell’album è curato da Jonathan Barnbrook, che aveva già lavorato con Bowie per “★”, ”The next day”, ”Heathen” e Nothing Has Changed.

Lo spettacolo ‘Lazarus’ è stato scritto da David Bowie e Enda Walsh, diretto da Ivo Van Hove e ha debuttato il 7 dicembre 2015 al New York Theatre Workshop.
